Functionality
Our air purifiers use a series of filters to remove airborne particles and contaminants. Air is drawn into the unit through an intake grille, passes through multiple filters (pre-filters, HEPA filters, and activated carbon filters), and then clean air is released back into the room.
Yes, our air purifiers are designed to run continuously. Our models come with timers and sleep modes to conserve energy.
Noise levels vary by model and fan speed. Our air purifiers operate quietly on lower settings, with some producing a white noise that can be soothing. Higher speeds may be louder but are typically still within acceptable noise levels for indoor environments.
Check our air purifier’s specifications for its CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate), which indicates its efficiency in filtering particles from the air. Match the CADR rating with your room size for optimal performance. Our air purifiers are designed to cover specific room sizes, so choose one that matches or exceeds your room’s square footage.
While air purifiers are more effective in closed spaces where they can filter the air continuously, they can still operate with windows open. However, an open window may allow more outdoor pollutants to enter, potentially reducing the purifier's effectiveness.
Our air purifiers are designed to be energy-efficient, especially when used on lower settings or with energy-saving features like auto modes or timers. Our models come with an Energy Star certification for assurance of energy efficiency.
Health Issues
Air purifiers are designed to remove pollutants, allergens, and harmful particles from the air. Most air purifiers, including those with True HEPA filters, capture particles like dust, pollen, pet dander, mould spores, smoke, and bacteria. They can also include activated carbon filters to neutralise odours and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), making the air cleaner and healthier to breathe.
Air purifiers are beneficial for various health conditions, such as:
- Allergies: They can help reduce exposure to common allergens like pollen, dust, and pet dander, easing symptoms such as sneezing, congestion, and itchy eyes.
- Asthma: Air purifiers help remove asthma triggers like dust mites, mold, smoke, and chemical fumes, reducing asthma flare-ups.
- Respiratory Irritation: They can filter out airborne irritants like particulate matter (PM2.5), which can cause throat, nasal, and lung irritation.
- Sinus Issues: Cleaner air can help reduce sinus congestion caused by airborne particles.
Air purifiers equipped with True HEPA filters can capture small particles, including some bacteria and viruses. While not a replacement for medical devices, air purifiers may help reduce airborne transmission of pathogens, particularly in enclosed spaces.
Yes, air purifiers with activated carbon filters are highly effective at reducing smoke (from tobacco or cooking) and eliminating odours caused by pets, cooking, or household chemicals. This leads to fresher and cleaner air, which can reduce respiratory irritation.
By capturing airborne allergens like pollen, pet hair, dust mites, and mould spores, air purifiers can significantly reduce allergic reactions. This makes them particularly helpful during allergy season or in homes with pets.
Yes, air purifiers can remove common asthma triggers from the air, such as dust, pet dander, mould spores, and smoke. This helps create a cleaner environment, reducing the likelihood of asthma attacks.
Clean air can improve sleep quality by reducing allergens, odours, and irritants that may cause nasal congestion or respiratory discomfort during the night. For individuals with allergies, asthma, or sinus issues, purified air can result in better, uninterrupted sleep.
Air purifiers can help by filtering out mould spores from the air, which can reduce the risk of respiratory symptoms like coughing, wheezing, and throat irritation. However, they do not address the root cause of mould growth, which needs to be treated separately.
Yes, air purifiers can help people with pet allergies by capturing pet dander, hair, and odour from the air, providing relief from symptoms like sneezing, itchy eyes, and skin rashes.
Air purifiers with activated carbon filters are effective at absorbing VOCs, which are commonly found in household products like cleaning agents, paints, and aerosols. Prolonged exposure to VOCs can lead to headaches, nausea, and long-term respiratory issues, so reducing their presence improves indoor air safety.
HEPA Filters
MA-14: Uses a 3-in-1 True HEPA filter, which includes a pre-filter, HEPA filter, and activated carbon filter.
MA-15: Equipped with a multi-layer HEPA filter system, combining a pre-filter, True HEPA filter, and activated carbon filter.
MA-25: Features a dual HEPA H13 filter system, offering both True HEPA filtration and activated carbon filtering for enhanced air cleaning.
MA-40: Utilises a 4-stage filtration system, including a pre-filter, True HEPA H13 filter, activated carbon filter, and UV-C light.
MA-112: Offers an advanced 4-stage filtration system with pre-filter, H13 True HEPA filter, activated carbon filter, and ionizer for maximum air purification.
Recommended filter replacement every 4-6 months for optimal performance.
All models feature a filter replacement indicator. Once the indicator light turns on, it’s time to replace the filter. The exact timing depends on the air quality and usage, but the light provides a clear signal when the filter's efficiency is reduced.
Pre-Filters: In models like the MA-14, MA-40, and MA-112, the pre-filters can often be gently vacuumed or lightly wiped down to remove large particles such as dust and pet hair. However, HEPA and carbon filters are not washable and should be replaced when indicated.
If you delay replacing the filters, the air purifier’s efficiency will decrease, leading to poorer air quality in the room. The unit may also work harder to push air through the clogged filters, potentially reducing its lifespan.
- Power off and unplug the device.
- Open the filter compartment by removing the back or bottom panel.
- Remove the used filter and discard it according to local regulations.
- Insert the new filter, ensuring it’s properly aligned.
- Close the compartment and plug in the unit.
- Reset the filter replacement indicator by holding down the corresponding button (check the manual for your model).
After replacing the filter, press and hold the filter reset button for a few seconds (typically 3-5 seconds). The filter indicator light should turn off once the reset is successful. Refer to your user manual for model-specific instructions.
